Dublin encompasses 14.6 square miles on the northern side of Alameda County. It is home to a rapidly growing population of 72,060 as of 2022. Those figures are expected to increase to 75,900 by 2030. While the populations of other cities in the Bay Area plummeted due to mass migration during the coronavirus pandemic of 2020 to 2021, Dublin's population stayed fairly stable.

Employment and Business Opportunities

As the second fastest growing city in California, there are numerous small businesses in the tech and manufacturing sectors. There are 2,301 registered businesses in the city. As of 2023, the largest employers in Dublin are in retail, tech, finance, and medical services. The unemployment rate is much lower than the national average.

From the Small Business Assistance Program, which helps small business owners with site selection and compliance, to the Sales Tax Reimbursement Program, in which the city reimburses up to 50% of a business' annual sales tax to help offset real estate investments and improvement costs, business owners can expect to get tremendous support from the local government. 


The city is served by the Dublin Unified School District (DUSD), which is recognized for quality education and consistently high rankings with 689 certificated staff on its roster. There are over 12,896 students enrolled in preschool through adult education in DUSD. The school district operates one K-8 school, two middle schools, two high schools, and seven elementary schools. 

DUSD and its schools have been received with numerous awards and recognitions over the years. These include the Gold Ribbon Award, National Blue Ribbon School, Advanced Placement Honor Roll, California School of Character, California Distinguished School, and Title 1 Academic Achievement Award. Elementary schools in Dublin offer daily and extended child care programs for school-aged children. 

When it comes to higher education, residents have the option to attend Las Positas College in nearby Livermore. The Livermore campus features various amenities, such as a theater, horticulture center, specialized programs, and first-rate classrooms and laboratories. 

There are also several universities within driving distance of Dublin. These include esteemed institutions such as the University of California at (UC) Berkeley, California State University (CSU) East Bay in neighboring Hayward, and Saint Mary's College of California further out in Moraga.

Emerald Glen Park is a pet-friendly, 48.2-acre recreational complex with a skate park, water play area, cricket pitch, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and tennis and bocce ball courts. In addition to sports facilities, the park also has picnic tables and BBQ grills for get-togethers.

The Emerald Glen Recreation and Aquatic Complex, also known as The Wave Waterpark, features a water slide tower, splash zone, and two swimming pools. It also has a community room and cabanas and loungers for a day of relaxation.

Fallon Sports Park is a 47-acre park with a baseball diamond; cricket field with five pitches; five-bay batting cage area; two softball fields; and four synthetic turf soccer fields and bocce ball courts. It also features four lighted basketball and sand volleyball courts. For those who want to enjoy a nice picnic, the park provides access to two picnic shelters with BBQ amenities and a concession booth. 

Dougherty Hills Open Space is a 107-acre dog run and open area with breathtaking views of the Tri-Valley and Mount Diablo. It is a popular hiking spot with trail access east of Stagecoach Road and north of Amador Valley Boulevard. The trail leads north to the top of a ridge. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.

Dougherty Hills Dog Park offers access to separate turf runs for small and large breeds as well as a pet drinking fountain. With public art installations and ample seating, the park is perfect for a lovely day with the dogs. 

Bray Commons Park has an enclosed area spanning a quarter of an acre for small dog breeds that weigh less than 20 pounds.

Martin Canyon Creek Trail spans 18.5 acres and meanders along a glistening creek lined with mature oaks and bay trees for 0.89 miles. The trail offers stunning canyon views to the west. Trail access is available at the corner of Bay Laurel and Silvergate Drives.

Dublin Hills Regional Park encompasses 654 acres and offers some of the gorgeous views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco skyline. A portion of the Calaveras Ridge Regional Trail cuts through the park and is perfect for hiking, cycling, and horseback riding. It leads to a vast and unspoiled grassland area under a lush woodland canopy.

Dublin is located near Livermore Valley Wine Country, which is known for its scenic trails, rolling vineyards, and award-winning wineries serving excellent drinks and small plates. The Dublin Heritage Park and Museums offer a unique glimpse into the Tri-Valley area's past. This 10-acre park features grassy lawns, picnic areas, historic buildings, lawns, and a historic cemetery. There are two museums on the grounds, including the 1856 Murray Schoolhouse, which features a permanent exhibit outlining the history of the city.  There is also the Kolb House, a Craftsman Bungalow-style home dating back to 1910 with original period-style rooms and authentic Mission and Arts and Crafts furniture that belonged to the Kolb family. Other highlights include Old St. Raymond Church, which dates back to 1859 and retains its original redwood flooring despite numerous repairs and restorations, and the Dublin Pioneer Cemetery, which offers insight into the lives of Dublin's early settlers and features a shaded path with large oak and walnut trees. The Dublin Heritage Park has a picnic area with two BBQ grills and can seat up to 80 guests. It can be reserved online for special gatherings and events. The park also hosts a variety of tours, camps, classes, and events throughout the year.

The Cultural Arts Center is a 13,000-square-foot multi-use facility on the first floor of the Dublin Civic Center. Envisioned as a social, educational, and cultural hub for the community, plans for the center include an art gallery, theater, dance studio, indoor-outdoor art yard, and art and music classrooms.
